Why You Shouldn't Pay Someone Else To Do Your Practice Marketing

When you look at growing your practice, there are 3 paths you can take…

The first is ‘hope’ - hope that the phone will ring, hope that someone will refer a client to you, hope that your business will grow.

Obviously, this is the least effective strategy, but ironically it is the most common strategy.

No one decides to rely on ‘hope’ marketing on purpose…

That would be crazy.

But we end up there because we don’t face the fact that we need to be more active in the growth of our practice, or because we are scared from a lack of knowledge or direction…

The second path is to pay a marketing agency to run ads for us…

Now that is the second most common approach, and it seems to make sense on the surface right? “I'm busy, I have more important things to do, marketing is not my skill set, I should be focused on seeing the people”…

That's usually how the conversation goes when I talk to practice owners and ask them why they are paying someone to do their marketing for them…

The problem is that it’s not true.

I haven’t spoken to one practice owner who is actually too busy or too important to be running their own marketing.

Not one. Doesn't matter what you say, everyone has 30min a day.

Now the third path is doing it yourself…

This is the only option in my eyes…

You are the business owner, you’re the one responsible for the attraction of new clients, and unless you are making over 7 figures a year and have got there through your own marketing skill, then there is no reason to palm off the job to someone else.

I run my marketing for my practice and this program, and it takes me all of 30min a day to manage both… And I'm not going to outsource it anytime soon because it's far too important.

You need to be running your marketing… Full-stop.

It’s not just about saving money… (marketing agencies overcharge)

It’s not just about getting better results… (marketing agencies under deliver)

It’s about taking your power back and owning that you can grow your practice, you can grow your business and ultimately no one knows your clients and your prospects better than you…

So no amount of 'done-for-you' marketing is going to top that.

I have friends who have multi-million dollar businesses, and they are all running their own marketing. It just makes sense.

Now I know what you’re thinking…

“That's easy for you to say, James, you know how to do it, I don’t and that's why I pay someone else. Because it's hard, its suuuuuper complex and it's going to take me so long to understand how to do all this by myself… well, that's at least what marketing agencies and my friends keep telling me…”

Don't listen to the agencies because they have an invested interest in you not knowing how to do it. And don't listen to your friends, because they don't know what they are talking about...

The problem is my friend…

No one wants you to know that agencies basically spend no time on your campaigns and they are generally just running cookie cutter copy paste campaigns that they use for everyone… and when things break they have no idea what to do… and when they get you leads or are advertising for you, they don’t understand your market or what you are offering and how to connect with ideal clients…

And the companies that are good... Sorry, you can't afford them...

They especially don't want you to know that running your own marketing is actually super simple... and you don't have to have had any previous experience or even be a 'techy' type person to figure it out...
